How to Join Miami REALTORS®

If you want to learn about real estate, one of the smartest moves you can make is joining Miami REALTORS® , the largest local REALTORS® association in the U.S. It’s more than just access to listings. It’s your gateway to understanding the real estate market. By getting involved, you’ll gain hands-on experience, develop leadership skills, grow your professional network, and truly grasp how Miami’s real estate market operates. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to become an active part of Miami’s real estate community. Miami REALTORS® connects you with the people, resources, and opportunities that bring you closer to the city and the industry.

Step 1 - Get Your Florida Real Estate License

Before you can join Miami REALTORS®, you need to be a licensed real estate agent in Florida. This is the essential first step to becoming part of the largest REALTORS® network in South Florida.

Here’s how to get started:

  • Complete the 63-hour Florida pre-licensing course from an approved real estate school.
  • Pass the Florida Real Estate Sales Associate Exam.
  • Apply for your Florida real estate license through the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation (DBPR).
  • Activate your license under a sponsoring broker, which is required before joining Miami REALTORS®.

Once your license is active, you’re ready for the next step: applying for Miami REALTORS® membership. This will unlock access to the MLS, networking opportunities, education, and tools to help you grow your real estate career.

Step 2: Apply for Membership with Miami REALTORS®

Once you have your active Florida real estate license and a sponsoring broker, you can officially apply to join Miami REALTORS®. The membership gives you access to the MLS, professional tools, networking events, and more.

Here’s how to apply:

  • Visit the Miami REALTORS® membership page
  • Complete the online application with your personal and license details.
  • Pay the membership dues, which include local, state, and national REALTORS® fees.

After your application is approved, you’ll be an official member of Miami REALTORS®.

Step 3: Complete New Member Orientation and Ethics Training

To ensure you’re prepared for professional success, Miami REALTORS® requires all new members to complete a New Member Orientation and Code of Ethics training within 60 days of joining.

Orientation covers MLS tools, member resources, networking opportunities, and how to get the most out of your membership.

Code of Ethics training ensures you understand the NAR ethical standards, which set REALTORS® apart from other real estate agents.

Once you complete these steps, you’re fully integrated into the Miami REALTORS® community. Ready to list, buy, sell, and network with thousands of professionals in South Florida.
